  A well credentialed surgeon with two distinct personalities. He operated on my left hip three times. The first two were ‘clean-ups’ whilst four years later in 2016 there was an anterior total left hip replacement. Surgery did not go well in the latter case because in a small percentage of cases using this method there is a possibility of femoral nerve damage. He refused to accept the post-operative diagnosis despite three neurological opinions to the contrary as well as advice from Neurosurgeon Greg Melham.
  Unfortunately David Young’s ego could not handle the failure and he sought to berate, obfuscate and as a last resort, humiliate the patient... me.
  I have been able to accept and move on with the surgical damage and undertaken years of rehab ... I face a life with left leg muscle atrophy and severe nerve pain after many visits to pain specialists.
  
  Simply put, I ‘won’ the raffle since I was in a 3% cohort that experience major surgical complications. The result was not good for the surgeon’s batting average. His staff and ‘minders’ do their best to manage a chaotic practice.
  A man with a narcissistic personality disorder which comes to the fore when things don’t go as planned. When things do, he can be quite avuncular.

  Dr David Young is a true gentleman, kind, compassionate and genuine. He goes above and beyond, is committed to his patients for life. Mr Young makes you feel safe, and confident in a time of your life of worry.
  
  Mr Young’s secretaries Kay, And the girls are so helpful, and kind. It is natural to feel apprehensive but Kay is always so reassuring, and helpful.
  
  Mr Young is the only surgeon I trust.

  Mr Young has been my surgeon for near on 30 years. Multiple reconstructions, countless clean ups, and a femoral osteotomy just recently. I can’t thank Mr Young enough for everything he has done for me through our journey!! An absolute gentleman and is 1st class. Thanks David, Andy.

  David replaced my left hip in 2005 and then my right hip in 2014.
  Both hips are doing well and at the moment i am running five 5+ kilometers a day.
  I wish to extend to David my gratitude for his enormous talent.
  When in Dubai a Canadian doctor who was looking to replace my right hip commented on how skillful the Birmingham had been done in my left leg.
  I then decided to come home and get Mr Young to do the right.

  In the immortal words of Tina Turner, David Young is simply the best. He is an accomplished surgeon and a leader in his field but more than this, he is a compassionate man and an extraordinary humanitarian. I've known David for over 30 years and trust him implicitly. Consider yourself blessed if you have him as your surgeon
